Warcraft 3 new faction mod3/17/2024 I can't think of anything related to the night elves and how Warsong Gulch would be avoided, but blood elves and Forsaken could mostly play the parts of both sides (whatever side is willing to cooperate) with PCs being sent out to further those goals discreetly (or become turncoats). This could all potentially be set into motion by Oynxia. So you could create a scenario where the Alliance ends up launching a preemptive strike against the wishes of Jaina, creating a self-fulfilled prophecy in sparking a war in a failed attempt to force peace by invading Durotar and sending scouts to Mulgore. I think TFT showed that the rift between the Horde and Alliance could not be fully ignored with Daelas Proudmoore and as far as most of the EK Alliance knew, the Horde was still largely the same entity it was in WC1/2. Only in Alterac would there be war and Alterac is not an existential fight for the Alliance in any way (it's just dwarves seeking to do some archeology and there shouldn't even be a war there to begin with). That's a good question. Why would the Horde and Alliance be at war in your scenario? The Horde/Alliance skirmishes in classic were over Arathi (Forsaken vs Humans) and Warsong Gulch (Night Elves vs Orcs) both of which would not longer be HvA but neutral race vs either faction. Night eleves and Illidari would have drawn close after the legionįorsaken and Alliance would have drawn close after Arthas Trolls: Darkspears, Zandalari, Amani, Gurubashi, Drakkari, Farakki Horde: Orcs (more distinctive clans - warsong/blackrock, dragonmaw, bleeding hollow etc), Tauren, Highmountain, Taunka, trolls, eventually splititng into Illidari: blood elves, draenei, eredar, Illidari night elves (blood elves would not have been demon hunters)įorsaken: Undead of every race, Ebon hold Dks and Worgen Night elves: night elves, nightborne, highborne, cenarians etc sentinel priests, druids etc The horde would have been the hoeric honourable outcasts making and establishing something for themselves.with the Troll factioin emerging out of them later and being its own thing but friendly with the horde.Īlliance: humans, dwarves, gnomes, high elves Eventually the night elves and illidari would have become friends. The blood elf night elf conflict should never exist - this was grossly blown up for faction conflict reasons and out of character for elves. night elves and later nightborne should have been their own faction - the forsaken should have been a massive undead faction, blood elves and draenei (broken) being part of their own faction together, and the Eredar (draenei), joining them. But more important like night elves and Draenei joining the alliance, or forsaken, blood elves and nightborne joining the horde - when honestly most of these races should have been their own faction - e.g. erosion of disitnctive classes like shaman, paladins, druids and warlock including specific flavour things for races. How do you think it would have gone without forcing all the major players into the WC2 mould of 2 factions, but continuing on and expanding the multiple faction conflict and focusing on lore?įaction conflict and partition has created some of the worse decisions for lore.
